憂鬱

　なんでこんなに憂鬱なんだろう。夏だというのに、ぼくは枯れ葉のようだ。なにもする気がない。すでに役目を終えた枯れ葉のようにただここに存在するだけだ。言葉も出ない。かつては言葉が溢れ出ることもあったが。窓の外の夏の雰囲気、夏の気配、夏の音を感じながら、ぼくは冬眠するかのようにただ寝っころがっている。ひどい。ふと思う。みんなすごいな。なんであれほど行動力に充ちているのだろう。なんで、寝っころがっていないで、行動してるんだろう。誰に対してもそう思う。なにかのイベントで朝から行列している。ぼくにはそんなことは出来ないし、したくもない。しかし、その行動力にただただ驚くばかりだ。ぼくは出来ることなら、家に

いる猫みたいにずっと寝ていたい。そして、実際そうしていることも多々ある。猫っていうのはなんであんなに寝ていることが出来るのだろう。ぼくがずっと寝ていると、顔はむくむし、頭痛はひどいしで、うんざりするんだが。イリヤー・イリッチ・オブローモフ！ぼくはほんとにあんたみたいだよ。ハムレットじゃない。ハムレットのぐずぐずしているところはどこか高潔さを感じる。漱石の登場人物でもない。彼らのぐずぐずしているところもなにか訳を感じる。イリヤー・イリッチのぐずぐずしているところはただただ、彼のだめさからだ。彼にも美点はある。それはしかし、彼のだめさと裏腹なものだ。彼は優しい、しかしそれは彼が優柔不断で問題を表面
化したくないからだ。彼は知的だ、しかしそれは彼がただたんに現実的でないからだ。このロールカーテン、ぼくはこれを何百回と見たことだろう。このロールカーテンをぼけっと見ているとき、ぼくはひどい憂鬱にとらわれている。
